Composed primarily of marshland which serves as an aquifer for the Minisceongo Creek, this park has been designated as a protected wetland area.

The area is teeming with wildlife, especially birds. Over 80 species have been sighted. In the 18th century, the Mount Ivy area was the center of a Quaker settlement, with a Quaker meeting House.
