Mount Ivy Environmental County Park (Samuel G. Fisher Mount Ivy Environmental County Park)

The park can be accessed from a parking area located at the southwest quadrant of the intersection of US 202 and the Palisades Interstate Parkway, adjacent to Exit 12 and/or 13 of the Parkway.

Limited parking is also available at the end of Firemen's Memorial Drive, at the southern end of the park.  GPS Coordinates: 41.174461, -74.035632

Composed primarily of marshland which serves as an aquifer for the Minisceongo Creek, this park has been designated as a protected wetland area.

Bisecting the park from north to south is an abandoned railroad bed, which is now a mile-long hiking trail.

The area is teeming with wildlife, especially birds. Over 80 species have been sighted. In the 18th century, the Mount Ivy area was the center of a Quaker settlement, with a Quaker meeting House. In the 19th century, when Thiells Road, with a bridge over the N.Y. & N.J. Railroad, met at Route 45 and Route 202, the intersection became known as Gurnee's Corner. The Gurnee house stood just west of the corner.
